Anomaly in the Sugar Bowl Continuum

30 x 24 inches

Collage, India ink, and acrylic paint on wood panel

A collaboration with sketches from my mom’s 1950s sketchbook, Anomaly in the Sugar Bowl Continuum explores spatial relationships. When a sugar bowl is not put away in its usual place inside the cupboard, but set on top of the cabinet instead, its presence vibrates at a different speed and draws attention to itself. It is a form of cosmic dissonance and interstellar yelling. A sugar bowl wants to be put back inside the cupboard with its friends, Salt and Pepper and Milk Vessel.
