Strips from love letters are collaged across Sandhill Crane’s torso and on his wings creating love bandages. The word “Dear” is collaged over his chest, with the word “beloved” inside the “e”. Sandhill Crane is made with an antique doll body, repurposed fabric and leather, hand embroidery, collaged paper and beads. “Festina Lente” which means “make haste slowly” is collaged on his upper legs. His lower legs are painted with green clay paint and sewn with blue antique beads because Sandhill Crane loves watery places.
